Met Niels brings BRODER, the original story of Niels Holgersson, the main character from the children's book of the same name by the Zweedse Nobelprijswinnares Selma Lagerlöf, to the stage: raw and fresh from the air. Niels comes to report singing and wildly telling about his incredible journey on the back of wild geese. Running from the fox, fighting with rats, enchanted by the crane dance. With a gnome who loves chocolate milk and teaches him that the ‘law of the strongest’ does not have to be true at all. Bert Verbeke and a 4-piece women's choir take you on this world-famous adventure. Juliana Joseph dances the performance up to the clouds with her ‘aerial silk aerial acrobatics’. Originally written by Nobelprijswinnares Selma Lagerlöf as a geography lesson, BRODER makes it a theater trip, full of music and text in rhyme. On the border between mischief and pain, between raw and beautiful nature and unlikely friendship. BRODER previously brought that other Nobel Prize winner, Maurice Maeterlinck, to the stage in an adaptation by Een Blauwe Vogel. Ook Niels will be an ode to unbridled fantasy, full of poetic imagination, with a hefty dash of child-friendly spectacle.
