About the company Tall Tales Company was founded in 2013 by Maartje Bonarius and Harm van der Laan, both alumni of Codarts Rotterdam. The company developed its own circus language in which major themes are reduced to recognizable, personal stories. For them, circus is not a series of loose techniques, but a narrative language: physical, exciting, layered, and accessible at the same time. With a magical, sharp, and humorous touch, Tall Tales Company explores human interaction and the impact that people have on each other and on the world around them. The company performs in theaters, at festivals, and in special locations, and has grown into a fixture within the Dutch circus landscape.
