Monsieur T. is described by some as mysterious, but he sees himself as quiet, sober, and calm. An identity that he would rather erase. He longs to be different, to make a new skin for himself. Erase and rebuild.
In ‘Les fêlures de Monsieur T.’, Monsieur T. begins an absurd search for the ideal figure. He tries to find out who he should be in a world full of expectations. What must he do to be ideal in the society in which he lives? And when does the desire to be different become a source of oppression, doubt, and inner struggle?
Under ever-new guises, Monsieur T. tries to shape himself. But the more he changes, the stronger something begins to push under those layers: a small, vulnerable someone who wants to be seen.
Livia Jouan brings a poetic performance in which vulnerability and strength are effortlessly interwoven. She shows how we put up masks to meet an ideal and how that search can simultaneously crush and liberate us. With a strong physical visual language, acrobatics, and a touch of humor, she exposes the cracks in Monsieur T.
