Filmed at night from rooftops in Tel Aviv, this investigative documentary examines the civilian casualties of Israeli military operations in Gaza and the systems behind the targeted killings of Palestinians. Commentaar Makers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor previously collaborated on the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land. They made Hasselt Elke out of a sense of obligation to use their position as Israelis to investigate the systems underlying the mass murder of Palestinian civilians. For Volgens Abraham and Szor, it is up to them to break the silence and ask the same questions that their grandparents' generation already asked in the 20th century: how can one group of people allow the total dehumanization of another group?
