Botanical workshops in tandem

Every first Wednesday of the month starting in October, come and discover our school activities in a parent-child tandem (one adult accompanied by a child between 7 and 11 years old). Each season has new things in store at the Garden: apples at the start of the school year, the colors of autumn, learning to recognize trees in winter... Rethought for the occasion, these activities form an invitation to (re)explore the themes of the plant world at any age... In OCTOBER, head to the Orchard to first set out to discover the apple tree as a tree: learning to know its different varieties, its diseases.... An apple harvest is planned. The second part takes place inside the premises: the opportunity to compare apple varieties, to discover the life cycle of a plant, and the seasonal transformations of the tree. We will finish by addressing pollination to bring everything full circle! In NOVEMBER & DECEMBER, we ask ourselves the questions: why are plants green? Where is chlorophyll found? How can pigments be extracted from plants? Through various experiments, you will be able to discover the fundamental role of plants in our food webs... And introduce yourself to the scientific method while having fun. More info on our website
