The Man in Black Group The Man in Black is the most remarkable Johnny Cash tribute band in Flanders. The deep, lived-in voice of singer/guitarist Geert Bouckaert is very close to that of Cash, but he does not bring a limp imitation of the great country artist, but gives each song his own touch. Singer Charlotte De Mey also fills in the parts of June Carter in her own unique way. Warm, soulful, and at times jazzy. The Man in Black presents an overview of the career of the greatest country singer ever in over 20 songs, including seven Johnny Cash/June Carter duets. Cash was at the top of the country charts for years, but also managed to break through to a larger audience. I Walk the Line , Ring of Fire , Get Rhythm : everyone knows those songs. At 70, just before his death, Cash scored another hit with Hurt , which allowed him to appeal to a new generation again.
