Céline Rudolph & Florian Weber Duo

Fri, 30 Oct 2026 · 20:00
Jazz Station, Brussels
€20
German Jazz Nights Deux artists, two sound languages, and the curiosity to discover what is born from their encounter. Double winner of the Echo Jazz Awards and rewarded by the German Jazz Prize 2024, Céline Rudolph is hailed as "a jewel of European vocal jazz" (TSF Jazz, France). Her improviser's voice evolves with remarkable ease between styles, languages and continents, while maintaining an immediately recognizable sound identity. ECM label artist and winner of the Belmont Prize, Florian Weber is among the most singular pianists of his generation. Le Süddeutsche Zeitung describes him as "an exceptional pianist with a resolutely new sound", while DownBeat praises his ability to merge composition and improvisation into a deeply personal musical language. In this duo, Rudolph and Weber bring together their respective sound universes: original compositions dialogue with spontaneous invention, the taste for risk rubs shoulders with surprise. Music thought of as a living, open, demanding encounter of unexpected beauty. The voice of Céline Rudolph, oscillating between the playful audacity of Maria João and the refined sound gestures of Sidsel Endresen, enters into a true dialogue with the ECM pianist Florian Weber, whose remarkable work in duo with Markus Stockhausen has already contributed to shaping this tradition of intimate musical conversation. In partnership with the Goethe Institut.
