BASta! - Concert in the dark

This concert, which you follow from very close by – and in the dark – is for those who love pure music. With BASta!, double bassist and composer Joris Vanvinckenroye explores the extreme possibilities of his instrument. With live electronics, looping, and effect pedals, he builds a rich soundscape layer by layer. His double bass sometimes sounds intimate, then again almost like an orchestra. In Concert in the dark, Joris invites you to listen even more attentively. Without visual distraction, the nuances, tension arcs, and resonances of his music come through all the more strongly. The result is an intense and immersive listening experience that completely immerses you in his personal musical universe. His most recent album III was also nominated in the category Beste Album at the Flanders Folk Awards 2026. BASta! is Joris’ solo project in which the double bass grows into a versatile instrument full of rhythm, melody, and depth.
