CANINI

CANINI is a new trio around guitarist and songwriter Fabio Canini (Sloper, The Scabs, Along Comes Mary). Known as a loud rock guitarist, Canini consciously chooses a different angle here: the classical guitar as a starting point for songs that breathe, move, and leave space. Together with Rob Vanspauwen (Kommil Foo) on bass – alternating between double bass and electric bass – and Arnout Hellofs (Hooverphonic, Admiral Freebee) on drums, an organic sound emerges in which classic songwriting merges with influences from blues, flamenco, tropicalia, and South American grooves. The music sounds warm and lived-in, sometimes subdued and almost seventies-like, then again lightly danceable and rhythmic, without ever becoming hurried. CANINI is not about effect-seeking, but about playing, sound, and ensemble. Drums that whisper and speak, bass lines that carry, and a guitar that is used both melodically and percussively. Songs get the time to unfold, but always remain clear and accessible. Live, this translates into a concert that is simultaneously intimate and compelling: music that takes you out of time for a moment, without losing sight of it. CANINI is currently working on the album ‘A Burning Weather Episode’, the first singles of which have already found international resonance on radio stations and playlists in Europe and South America.
