€12–17
From his home base New Braunfels (Texas, USA), Dallas Burrow is making his way with his infectious music (a mix of country, americana, Tex-Mex, and blues). Dallas was raised with the music of Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Willis Alan Ramsey, and Billy Joe Shaver. All these influences can be found in his music. Dallas is gifted with a fantastic baritone voice, including a raw edge, and also plays guitar wonderfully. Sometimes he is reminiscent of Jeffrey Foucault, then again of Ryan Bingham, but there are also similarities with Guy Clark. On his new album ‘Way the West was Won’ there are duets with, among others, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Kelly Willis. Like a contemporary Jack Kerouac, he sings stories about the old and new wild west of the Verenigde Staten in menacing rocking songs, grooving blues numbers, beautiful duets, country tearjerkers, and Mexican waltzes. Not convinced? Then know that you will miss something on October 15. Dallas Burrow made an album that leaves no americana lover untouched and has ‘it’ namely… ‘A fine album by a young musician with an old soul.’ - Mojo Magazine
