Evere, of gray and green Event

Evere, of gray and green

Sun, 2 Aug 2026 · 14:00
Moulin d'Evere, Brussels
€10–15
In the north of the Brussels Region, Evere is undoubtedly one of its most unknown municipalities. Having remained rural for a long time (and associated, like Haren, with chicory cultivation), it today presents a double face, between a dormitory town and tertiary districts. But in its interstices, the old village core, stuck between the chaussée de Haecht and the Schaerbeek-formation site, still reveals a large number of curiosities: picturesque alleys, Romanesque church, and century-old farms, but also numerous green spaces, whose existence is explained (quite curiously) by an urban highway project, fortunately abandoned! This visit will also be an opportunity to take stock of the history and future of the impressive Schaerbeek-Formation site, the future conversion of this wasteland, and the issues it raises.
