Discover the beautiful Maesbempder Greend: Excursion with MaasVerkenner

Discover the former gravel extraction area Maesbempder Greend together with a MaasVerkenner. Besides a large lake, there are also various small water features, flower-rich grasslands, and willow thickets. It connects to the Mazenhoven nature reserve and is grazed by semi-wild Konik horses and Galloway cattle. The walk of approximately 8km also takes you past the beautiful chapel of Mazenhoven and the Kraaienbosje, the smallest forest reserve in Flanders.  In bad weather, it can be muddy. Walking shoes or boots are recommended.  Did you know? Every 2nd Sunday of the month, a MaasVerkenner is ready in one of the gateway villages to take you on a trip to some special spots in the RivierPark Maasvallei.
