The 56th Pikkeling

Every year during the last weekend of the month of July, our free harvest festival, called 'de Pikkeling', takes place in the Faluintjes region – alternating in the Aalst sub-municipalities of Herdersem, Baardegem, Moorsel, and Meldert. De Pikkeling pays tribute to the joy of the harvest. At our harvest and folklore festival, there are many diverse activities and sights and popular harvest traditions that remain cherished. De Pikkeling is a large popular festival where young and old, old and young, conservative and progressive find something to their liking. They all have one thing in common: their love for nature and respect for the past.
