Justices

Through the free rewriting of La Divine Comédie de Dante, Justices follows the existential quest of Vincent, a character with Down syndrome, in the circles of hell with a Pop-graphic aesthetic. A dozen scenes, like so many ultra-colorful and lively universes, follow one another on stage. No dark realism, but an explosion of styles and atmospheres where cabaret, French chanson, and performance intertwine. With this initiatory journey, Vincent confronts figures of oppression variously inspired by the real world: arbitrary prohibitions, dominant perceptions, institutionalized ableism. Justices has fun moving the lines and norms. The show relies on humor and audacity to shake up our certainties and disturb our consciences… And invites us to imagine a more attentive, fairer, more inclusive society.
