Switzerland, the 1940s. While the country remains officially neutral during the Tweede Wereldoorlog, the population of a Swiss rural village does not look away from the atrocities in Europe. But when gruesome facts occur within their own closed Protestant community, criticism is not tolerated. 15-year-old Emma, who is pregnant after a brutal rape, also experiences this. Instead of silently accepting her fate, she goes in search of small ways of resistance.
