Herman tells what it was like to work with Toon, perfectionist and hypochondriac, in his old age still boundlessly ambitious, but also filled with a ‘blissful melancholy’. Lissa Meyvis, an angelic appearance with a voice as fine and fragile as crystal, breathes new, young life into the songs of Herman, a reflection of the innocence and cheerfulness that the master himself held in such high regard.
