Sint-Franciscuskerk has become cultural hall De Kapucinne.
De Kapucinne is the repurposed Sint-Franciscuskerk in the Ieperstraat, a building that has no longer been used for religious services since 2019 but has been transformed into a cultural (theater) hall with a wide range of activities.
Under the management of the Autonoom Gemeentebedrijf Menen and in collaboration with Cultuurcentrum De Steiger, the church was furnished as a full-fledged cultural infrastructure, suitable for theater, concerts, lectures, and various socio-cultural activities.
The interventions respected the historical structure and the interior, including the eighteenth-century baroque altar and the frescoes in the choir, while modern techniques were discreetly integrated to make contemporary use possible.
