Zefiro Torna, 30 years Zefiro Torna: Unity in diversity, anniversary edition!

Thirty years of Zefiro Torna: you don't celebrate that with a boring retrospective, but with a festive encounter! In the XL anniversary edition of the multi-year project Unity in diversity, the ensemble plunges into a stage adventure where past and present are almost indistinguishable. It says something about the trajectory of Zefiro Torna: what began as a search for early music grew into a practice of dialogue – Renaissance and Baroque repertoire alongside folk music, improvisation, and new perspectives. For this pearl anniversary, frontman Jurgen De bruyn put together an exceptional collective with mandolinist Alon Sariel. Twelve voices and instruments – from lute and ney to gadulka and tar – stretch out a soundscape that is both intimate and exuberant. Everyone brings their own tradition; in the encounter, the music begins to tell a story. Differences are not smoothed over, but resonate together. From hushed intimacy to exuberant singing, this concert happily colors outside the lines: the ultimate proof that turning thirty is no reason to slow down!
