On the longest day of the year, when the light reaches its peak, we invite you for a special afternoon concert full of rest, experience, and deepening. Tijdens Sounds of the Longest Day you will be immersed in a carefully constructed sound healing concert with gongs, tongue drums, handpan, and other meditative instruments. The rich vibrations and harmonic layers work deeply on body and mind, bring relaxation, and create space for stillness and renewed energy. This concert is dedicated to the summer solstice, a powerful moment of transition, growth, and awareness. And at the same time an invitation to stand still for a moment, let go, and re-tune to what is truly important to you. You experience this concert lying down, in complete comfort, so that you can completely surrender to the sound and the experience. Treat yourself to this break and let yourself be carried away by the sounds of Sounds of the Longest Day. A yoga mat, blanket, and pillow will be ready upon your arrival. So you don't have to bring anything yourself. Biografie Andy Vanbeveren is passionate about music and its effects on people. What once started with singing bowls and gongs has since grown into a collection of more than 350 instruments. Native American Flute, didgeridoo, handpan, tongue drum, all kinds of percussion and drums, numerous string instruments, piano, and many other world instruments belong to his unique collection. He completed various training courses at home and abroad and was able to learn from many great 'masters' in their field such as Hans de Back (singing bowls), Shree Krishna Shahi and Santa Ratna Shakya (singing bowls), Don Conreaux (gongs), Michael Telepary (Native American Flute), Nestor Kornblum (overtone singing),... Since 2010, he has had more than 1000 concerts to his name. Not only throughout Flanders, but also in the Netherlands. He has played at Tomorrowland, the Japanese garden in Hasselt, Casino van Blankenberge, numerous cultural centers, churches, etc. He is known for his continuous innovations in sound combinations. A passion that he now also knows how to interpret via live looping. In the past, he played together with other musicians such as Tylaine Van den Broeck (piano), Gilbert Isbin (lute), John Snauwaert (sax), Michael Telapary (American Native Flute), Nicolas Mortelmans (sitar), Hari Paudjal (bansuri flute), Hélène Philippart (bansuri flute and transverse flute), Manish Pingle (slide guitar), Catherine Maes (mezzo-soprano), Bart Gits (taiko), Kees Kort (shakuhachi), Aki Vergels-Sato (koto), Cantavita (overtone singing), etc. In addition, he has already accompanied numerous yoga sessions, meditation, teambuildings, festivals, Ecstatic Dance, etc.
