You are very welcome at Nocturne d'été, a lighthearted summer concert organized by Simon De Smet (piano). Together with friends and fellow musicians, Robin De Jaeger (baritone) and Hristina Stavreva (flute), he presents a classical program with piano solo pieces, Lied, and chamber music.
The theme of the evening is the depiction of early German romanticism (Schubert) versus French impressionism (Debussy) and in between a composer (Duparc) who remarkably manages to reconcile both traditions.
PROGRAM:
F. Schubert: Impromptus Op. 90 No. 1 in C minor and No. 2 in E-flat major.
Selection of songs by Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms, and Duparc.
C. Debussy: Petite Suite in an arrangement for flute and piano.
