Against a dark background of hatred and prejudice, two young people fight for their love and intimacy. They want to be able to choose freely themselves. In this Shakespeare adaptation, love is sung about and skirts are looked under, marriages are improvised and nocturnal escapades are organized, dishes are thrown and doors are slammed, and finally, lovers are carried to the grave. Romeo & Juliet is a translation of an immortal love story that celebrates love and sexuality with an inclusive cast. A large and at times ridiculous family feud brings everything into sharp focus. Are you allowed to have love and sexual feelings? And what if others see you as different or you experience yourself as different? Het Scheldeoffensief is a theater lab for special people with a disability. This special performance takes place outdoors, in the Schoonselhof at the “Chateau”. You sit on a stand with chairs.
