Voor Videodroom reworks Ghent guitarist Filip Wauters's original soundtrack (Neil Young) of 'Dead Man' on steel guitar.
Dead Man is a surreal western from 1995 by director Jim Jarmusch. Like many Videodroom films, not exactly a big hit when it came out, but the film grew into a true cult phenomenon partly due to the fantastic soundtrack by Neil Young. Fun fact: Neil Young improvised the soundtrack, live, in the moment, when he saw the film for the first time.
Met Johnny Depp in the lead role, and among others Iggy Pop, Robert Mitchum Billy Bob Thornton in supporting roles - Dead Man is a true, unique, anti-western.
Ghent guitarist Filip Wauters (BackBack, Spook, The Whodads, ...) performs a version of the original soundtrack by Neil Young live during the film on his Fender Dual Professional Console steel guitar. A soundtrack that will wink at the original score.
