On discovery in the Magritte Museum

"One cannot speak about the mystery, one must be seized by it" is one of the many statements by René Magritte. During this guided tour we become aware of the methods the artist used to evoke the mystery. Magritte wants to make us think about that which we no longer consciously experience: the everyday, the ordinary, the routine. That is why Magritte paints familiar things in an unseen context. That poetic moment gives us a shock and sets thinking in motion.
