What is the deal with the Hogenbos anyway?

Het Hogenbos is a little-known forest area that nevertheless covers 150 ha. Its location across three municipalities (Kortenberg, Zaventem, and Tervuren) will have something to do with that. Known as a forest area of the Prins de Merode, later as an industrial site of ICI, and recently crossed by the Leuven-Brussels bicycle highway, the question arises for many: what is actually going on with this area? Xavier Hion van Bremhove sketches the recent history of the industrial zone, we explore the newly constructed bicycle highway, and finally, we enter the Hogenbos to get to know its geology, flora, and fauna. The entire walk covers about 10 km.
