Tim Oelbrandt and De Studio, KIZUNA

‘KIZUNA’ is the Japanese word for connection. But also for obstruction and hindrance. That double meaning makes it interesting. Today, we are constantly connected. Met Jan and everyone. Met Leen and everyone. The internet is getting faster and fuller with information. But are we really that connected to each other? Meanwhile, a network is growing under our feet that we are unaware of. A network of invisible threads that connects all trees, plants, and mushrooms underground. You could call the mycelium, that network of fungal threads, the internet of flora. Tim Oelbrandt takes his audience on a story about the small and large things in life that connect us. He gives us the feeling of all being connected. He even knows how to literally melt our wedding rings together. Or he calls an unsuspecting stranger and leaves the audience with a riddle: how beautiful and valuable can the connection with a stranger be? In ‘KIZUNA’, Oelbrandt brings a magical story about connection with wonderful magic tricks. With ‘Back and Forth’, he previously created a performance for an adult audience in an intimate setting. With ‘KIZUNA’, he goes one step further. Over Tim Tim Oelbrandt was already a well-known name in the underground magic circuit before he broke through to the theater audience. In his enchanting performances, he combines magic, illusion, and theater in a magnificent way. His performances ‘Back and Forth’ and ‘Brain Freeze’ were true audience favorites. Oelbrandt is also a magic consultant for theater and TV productions and he worked on, among others, the VTM series ‘Nicholas’ and ‘That promises for later’. Moreover, Oelbrandt has been allowed to call himself Belgisch Kampioen Goochelen since October 2023 and he won the award for ‘Most Original Act’ at the FISM European Championship of Magic 2024.
