TEXT THEATER - DIALECT - From 14 years old
Three sisters organize a family party to commemorate their deceased parents. Waiting for the guests, they drink like horses, dance like toddlers, and discuss in detail what the evening will bring. Slowly, what has been kept silent for years bubbles to the surface. How do they deal with the persistent Flemish habit of sweeping feelings under the rug?
Lina Ghys and Maartie Ruts make raw, poetic, and absurd theater with a distinct queer aesthetic and lots of humor. In DRIE DAGEN PER DOOD, three sisters organize a derailing family party in which trauma and loss slowly bubble to the surface. The result is maximalist location theater that balances between grotesque exuberance and sharp social undertones.
