In 1932, Kurt Schwitters created one of the iconic works of Dadaism with his monumental sound poem Ursonate. Nearly a century later, Simon Steen-Andersen is working with this material again, in which Michael Schmid steps out of his role as a flutist to reinterpret the vocal barrage of syllables into a celebration of primitive sound.\n\nWith staging, electronics, and video, Steen-Andersen turns it into a total experience for these post-Dadaist (but no less absurd) times.
