"Paris s' éveille" Evening of French chanson at Hopmuseum

An evening with fun, well-known French chansons is what is on the program at "Paris s' éveille" in the warehouse of Hopmuseum. Els Meurisse and Pierre Polveche already visited Hopmuseum in '24. The ravishing Vlaamse Els browses together with the top Northern French accordionist Pierre Polveche through what once made the French chanson great. With his accordion, Pierre lets the warm sounds of the Parisian streets revive, while Els brings the stories to life. The charm of Montmartre, the romance along the Seine, the nostalgia of the Grands Cafés, … Welcome to ‘La Ville-Lumière’. Els Meurisse studied jazz and was mainly active in Kortrijk bands but broke through with Ride this train, the project of Wouter Droesbeke with music by Johny Cash where she played the role of "June Carter". In addition, she performs with Routes § Roots together with Bart Buls where she brings roots songs. Het Franse chanson fits her like a glove and so she toured with Guy et les Michelins, with whom she was already a guest in Poperinge. Pierre Polveche is a musician, composer, and arranger and has his own project Pépé Prod in France, with which he started a music school for people who want to learn music at a late age. In addition, he has his band Kocham çie with Balkan music and Cigano.
