Marc Copland (US) & Robin Verheyen (try-out)

Pianist Marc Copland and saxophonist Robin Verheyen share a musical partnership grounded in subtlety, trust, and an ability to listen in depth. Since their first collaboration in New York in 2012, they have developed a unique language as a duo - lyrical, searching, and rich in harmonic nuance - while they also collaborated in larger ensembles. In the past, they made, among other things, the album Someday (2022) and Dreaming (2025) under the name Marc Copland Quartet, and they played in several of each other's projects, such as Blues, Reds and Other Songs for Madonna (2025). This shows their firmly founded musical dialogue that continues to evolve. In 2027, they will release a new duo album, focused on the intimate relationship between piano and saxophone. The album will be followed by an international tour in 2028, with which they will celebrate Marc Coplands's eightieth birthday and pay tribute to a great in modern jazz whose career has lasted more than four decades. Together, Copland and Verheyen create music that is simultaneously sophisticated and spontaneous, where every note stems from a shared sense of space, sound, and creativity.
