Sophia Ammann - Here I Am

De Belgisch-Canadian singer-songwriter Sophia Ammann has previously performed in our Steenoven theater hall as the frontwoman of Little Dots. Today, she invites you to inaugurate a new chapter with her. After years of touring with her acclaimed Leonard Cohen-tribute, Sophia presents her long-awaited solo debut. “Here I Am” is an album full of quirky and cinematic songs, narrative and compelling, with a touch of magical realism. Music at the intersection of indie, folk, and country. The record was recorded in the US with producer Shane Leonard (Josh Ritter, Anna Tivel). Live, Sophia is assisted by bassist Tim Vandenbergh (Colorist Orchestra, SunSunSun), who also contributed to the production and arrangements of the record in Belgium and the US. Jan Dhaene is on drums, with whom she played at Ansatz Der Maschine. American multi-instrumentalist Dietrich Strausse completes the band on piano, guitars, keys, trumpet, and backing vocals.
