Sara Salvérius - Breath

In 2025, the grandfather of accordionist and composer Sara Salvérius announced the day and hour of his death. He had requested euthanasia and therefore knew exactly when he would breathe his last breath. The foreshadowing of the imminent farewell was for Sara not only the beginning of a personal grieving process but also the start of a search for the cadence that gives rhythm to every life: the breath. Driven by the ambition to - after the successful project Pendulum (2024) with the string quartet Sun*Sun*Sun - write for a larger ensemble again, Sara now brings together four wind players from diverse backgrounds. Together they explore the wind that rushes through their instruments. Sometimes in the melancholy tone of a whispered last word, sometimes with the exuberant character of a brass band. Between composition and improvisation, they celebrate life, farewell, and death. Because everything is breath.
