He became known with his year-end conferences 'Van Peel overleeft' which were broadcast on New Year's Eve on Canvas and Radio 1 and with which he toured all over Flanders for ten years. In between, he wrote columns for the Standaard and the Morgen and played almost all stages of the Low Countries; from youth centers and cafes to Lowlands and the Lotto Arena.
