Beekeeper visit on Friday, June 26, at 1:30 p.m. Note: this is not just any visit!! Also curious about what the life of the bees looks like and to see them at work up close? That's possible! We are welcome at beekeepers Marc and Els Claus – Menu in Kruibeke!! They will tell us about the different “buzzers” that exist in the area and this to briefly situate the honeybees among other bees and wasps, and to recognize them better. They will inform us about the life cycle of the honeybees, from egg to bee. And what is the difference between the queen, the drone, and the worker? But we will also be informed about the other products that bees make and what exactly the task of the beekeeper is. We may even go and look at the beehives, with glass lids on them. For the adventurers among us, Els and Claus want to provide beekeeper suits and so we can get even closer to the life of the bees. A minimum of 18° is required, otherwise our visit is too burdensome for the bees. Of course, honey can be tasted. Els and Claus, both among others beekeepers and nature guides, have worked out this afternoon especially for Markant Temse. They want to receive us well and provide a drink for us but also homemade snacks (sweet and savory) in which honey is processed. Marc is also a herbalist and for those who want (subject to an additional charge of 12 euros for a jar of 40 mg) he will make a natural hand cream based on propolis and honey for you. Also interested in experiencing this fascinating afternoon with us? That's possible, register quickly! When? Friday, June 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. (end expected around 5 p.m.). For those carpooling, meeting at restaurant Het Moment in Temse at 1:10 p.m.
