Parasite Paradise: Nicolas Rossius & Sabou

Parasite Paradise brings together for the first time the universes of Sabou and Nicolas Rossius, following the very first artists' residency organized by Sterput.\n\nBoth draw their inspiration from the imaginaries of horror, but each develops a singular visual language. Sabou's drawings, created on paper with a precision that evokes engraving, summon black-and-white tales, horror mangas, and the aesthetics of stop-motion films. His teeming compositions draw the eye into strange narratives where unsettling atmospheres, dark humor, and macabre poetry rub shoulders.\n\nResponding to this sensitivity is the universe of Nicolas Rossius, a Belgian illustrator whose work with markers and colored pencils explores the territories of body horror. Influenced by genre cinema and video games, he gives birth to grotesque, organic, and bloody creatures, whose monstrosity oscillates between the fascinating, the touching, and the nightmarish.\n\nBorn from a shared time of research and creation, Parasite Paradise is the encounter of two practices that converse around mutation, the strange, and infestation. Between dark humor, metamorphoses, and fantastic visions, the exhibition invites the visitor to enter an ecosystem where the monstrous proliferates, contaminates the imagination, and reveals a beauty as disturbing as it is captivating.
