Based on a true story: Lia is a young woman who lives with her parents in a Sicilian village. She has a strong character and has difficulty with the ancient customs of the sixties there. She has known the flamboyant Lorenzo, son of the mayor, for a while. When he returns to their native village after a few months, they pick up their friendship again. Lorenzo clearly wants more but Lia is reserved. One evening, he abducts her and takes her to his mountain hut, against her will. According to the prevailing morality, Lia must accept the ancient tradition of the "restorative" marriage and marry to save her honor. She does not accept this and for the first time in Italian history, a woman defies social expectations and fights for self-determination!
