Boudewijn de Groot truly lives up to his name. Having started out as a protest singer, he grew into one of the greatest singer-songwriters the Netherlands has ever known. He made his mark with iconic songs such as ‘Goodnight Mr. President’, ‘Het Land van Maas and Waal’ and ‘Prikkebeen’. To honour his father, Marcel de Groot brings a unique show to the theatre: a beautiful overview filled with stories and anecdotes from his father’s remarkable career, which Marcel is delighted to share with the audience. There is no better place in Flanders to host this tribute than Kursaal Oostende — a venue where father Boudewijn himself took to the stage on several occasions. The opening act that evening will be Augustijn, another artist with a famous father who has also performed multiple times on the stage of Kursaal Oostende. This evening promises to be a unique double bill on an iconic stage, where both singers can quite literally follow in the footsteps of their legendary fathers.
