Nele Bauwens - And the seven hits

Cabaretière Nele Bauwens proves that she is a master storyteller. She takes her audience to the café of her aunt José from her childhood. There, she brings out colorful characters who populated this special universe. At the same time, she investigates the feeling of alienation today and the role that the folk café used to play in bringing people together. Central is aunt José, with her 1m53 and bright red hair a striking appearance, a real allumeuse. She ran her café as a kind of second home, a place where customers became friends and often even family. Ook Nele herself grew up in it. As a child, she let herself be immersed in the world of schlagers and life songs. Songs began to mix with her thoughts, as if her head sometimes takes over words and sentences from what she hears and feels.
