Katrientje, Barbara Claes & Lucinda Ra

After an illness of more than 7 years, Katrien Claes died on November 6, 1991, from the consequences of two brain tumors. She was 12 years old. Tweelingzussen Barbara and Stefanie were 9 at that time, their older sisters 16 and 18 years old. Barbara and Stefanie remember from that period mainly the silence, the distance, and the lack of physical comfort. This profound and traumatic experience has had a lasting effect on their lives to this day. Katrien's death took place in a time when people had few tools to deal with such grief. In Met Katrientje, Barbara and Stefanie delve into mourning (in children), family constellations, and psychological consequences in the long(er) term.
