Passage - Exhibition by Marielle Lejeune

Marielle's paintings are born from childhood memories, fragments of life, family games, moments of lightheartedness that we carry within us. These reminiscences, sometimes imprecise, become on the canvas a territory of memory where blurriness is not a limit, but an emotional space in its own right. Marielle works with acrylic paint in transparency, superimposing layers until the erasure or revelation of the subject. It is in this in-between, between presence and absence, precision and blur, that the essential is played out: bringing out the sensitive part of our memories, the emotions and sensations that continue to inhabit us. Her characters appear without features, her landscapes barely sketched. These faceless faces do not lock the gaze, they open it. Everyone can recognize something of their own in them: a pain, an absence, a slight worry. Her work thus explores themes ranging from disappearance to erasure, from certain childhood anxieties to the silent transformations of our life paths.
