Zon (2026) is the tragicomic film debut of Kat Steppe. The story follows two estranged brothers (Josse De Pauw and Peter Van den Begin) who see each other again after thirty years. Horst lives in a residential care center and has Alzheimer's. His brother Franz visits him, looking for money. Their confrontations are mediated by Andrea, their mutual childhood sweetheart. The film is unique because fiction and reality blend together. It was filmed in a real Antwerp residential care center, with real residents and staff acting in it. The confusing editing and flashbacks simulate the disorientation of dementia in a palpable way.
