Against the War

We live in turbulent times: war is closer than we would like, peace more fragile than we thought. Against the War is a reflection on global unrest. In the first part of this concert, war is central, with the confronting Das Berliner Requiem van Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht as eye-catchers. Afterwards, hope blossoms and the longing for peace resonates in several breathtakingly beautiful choral works. Loyal festival partner I SOLISTI and the fantastic German choir CHORWERK RUHR, led by Yuval Weinberg, join forces for the first time for this special project. The program was specially designed for and by Festival 20·21 and will then also travel to Bochum, Dessau, and the prestigious Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.
