In 'BIG DEAL', SKaGeN ruthlessly dissects contemporary times. David Mamet wrote this piece in 1982, at the beginning of the neoliberalism of Thatcher and Reagan. Forty years later, we are in the world of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos. The ideology of profit-seeking has lost none of its bite—on the contrary. In 'BIG DEAL', salespeople make each other's lives miserable in a ruthless battle for bonuses, leads, and their jobs. They manipulate, lie, and betray each other without scruples just to stay one step ahead in the hierarchy. Loyalty and friendship give way to backstabbing, jealousy, and abuse of power. Every character fights with a knife between their teeth—not to win, but simply to survive.
