In 2026, Sint-Martens-Latem is all about music. As a festive finale of the Year of Music, the Lieven Duvosel Muziekprijs voor kamerkoren is awarded.\n\nLieven Duvosel (born Ghent, 1877) composed numerous fanfare pieces, songs, symphonies, and cantatas. His work was performed and appreciated both at home and abroad. He is best known for his Leie Cycle, a fiery, romantic ode to the river that flows through his place of residence.\n\nFive high-quality chamber choirs compete against each other in the final:\n\nKamerkoor Cum Gaudio from Sint-Martens-Latem under the direction of Rachel Perfecto Kamerkoor Furiant from Ghent under the direction of Steve De Veirman Choeur Ouvert from Aalter under the direction of Jozefien Van Parys Vocaal Ensemble Vox Grata from Zwijndrecht under the direction of An Janssens Brussels Young Adult Choir from Brussels under the direction of Johannes Dewilde De choirs bring a varied program from their own repertoire. In doing so, each choir must include at least one work by a Flemish composer. The two highest-ranked choirs go home with a cash prize.\n\nRegistration required.
