Bats are wonderful and harmless animals: at dusk they emerge happily fluttering and feast all night on mosquitoes and other insects. Some bats live in houses, churches or caves, in trees. In Vlaanderen are home to about 18 species of bats, including, uniquely in the Waasland, the previously thought-to-be-extinct barbastelle bat.
We start the evening with a presentation where you will learn all about these mysterious little animals. Afterwards, we go out to see and hear various bats. The guide, Joris Everaert, has several bat detectors and a night vision device at their disposal for this.
