Radioman - Cinema matinee

We return to May 1940, the eve of the Tweede Wereldoorlog. The national radio broadcasts in the iconic Flagey building in Brussels, where the paths of the young actress Elza and the budding sound engineer Berre cross. He seeks stability in the intangible power of sound, she in the enchantment of radio plays. Their meeting ignites a spark of love, which lifts them above the threat of their time. Regisseur Frank Van Passel tells with Radioman an immersive love story about passion, imagination, and the search for humanity in dark times. Almost all of well-known Flanders passes in review in this magical ode to the radio world, but it is especially the young talents Jef Hellemans and Femke Vanhove, who steal the show as the central, in-love duo.
