A fascinating look behind the scenes of the STAM, with unique commentary from the restorer.
As a museum, taking care of the collection is one of our core tasks. That means that we also regularly have objects restored. A story of making choices and weighing options. How does such a restoration proceed? Which decisions are necessary? And how much time can all that take?
The guide also takes you behind the scenes at the restoration of the former Armenkamer (Poor Room), where poor city dwellers could come to ask for support from the 16th century onwards. Restaurateur Nicole Tauchner talks from practice about the process and the techniques that she applies here.
