Dawn trip in & around Wervicq-Sud (F)

The industrialized banks of the Leie wrongly suggest that Wervicq-Sud is a drab border town. When you head up the ‘Franse Berg’ and look for the neighborhood with mundane villas of the wealthy industrialists of yesteryear, you enter another world. Natuurgids Martine Desmarets takes you on the road and lets you get to know the other side of our French sister city: one far away from all the hustle and noise. We walk in an arc around the center and thus discover the surprisingly green edge of ‘South Wervik’, colored with authentic chapels, field paths, and farms. Along the way, you will learn many interesting facts about the fauna & flora you encounter. We conclude with a delicious breakfast (optional). Practical: - When? Sunday, July 12 at 6:30 AM, gather from 6:15 AM. - Where? Start at the parking lot of ‘Le Pôle Jeunes’ (intersection Rue de Linselles & Avenue Louis Pasteur in Wervicq-Sud). End of walk around 8:30 AM. - Price? € 4 (walk) + optional breakfast € 8 - Registration is possible from June 26 and is mandatory.
