Michel Alfred Fabry / Lucien Lyon Exposition Tout Public Michel Alfred Fabry and Lucien Lyon share the same interest in images, materials, and references that are diverted from their primary function. For both, the work is built through assembly, displacement, and reinterpretation: fragments of daily life, popular cultures, raw materials, or visual memories become supports for narration and invention. Trained in painting in the years when conceptual art and minimalist art dominated, Michel Alfred Fabry kept from this period a rigor of analysis, while feeling the need today to explore a more narrative form of art. His approach is deliberately composite: it mixes painting, engraving, sculpture, drawing, and small intimate slices of life inspired by daily life. For each technique, he seeks a contemporary vision by starting from what he considers his point of historical intensity: German expressionism of the 30s for engraving, the Nabis for color in painting. His work thus advances between heritage, humor, narrative, and formal freedom. Lucien Lyon questions the links between youth, learning, brutality, and construction. From materials from the construction site (wood, plaster, mortar) he creates pictorial and sculptural objects marked by alteration, recovery, and traces of time. His works mix raw materials, heroic fantasy imagery, references to video games, and pop forms. He thus builds playful environments where the supports themselves become carriers of stories. Raw, naive, and playful, his work explores how our cultural references participate in the construction of identity.
