Rencontre Internationale of the Jeunes Chanteurs Lyriques

The inhabitants of Ixelles and all music lovers are warmly invited to discover the second edition of the Rencontre Internationale des Jeunes Chanteurs Lyriques, which will take place from July 13 to 17, 2026, at Théâtre Mercelis. Placed under the artistic and pedagogical direction of Maestro Francesco Medda, a renowned tenor and pedagogue, this international masterclass will bring together young lyrical singers from different countries to perfect their art and enrich their artistic experience in a setting of excellence. For five days, participants will benefit from an intensive program dedicated to vocal technique, interpretation, diction, stage presence, and deepening the great lyrical repertoire. Supervised by professionals from the world of opera, they will also have the opportunity to develop valuable artistic and human exchanges with young talents from diverse cultures and musical traditions. Beyond training, this meeting is intended as a true space for sharing, discovery, and intercultural dialogue. It contributes to supporting the emergence of the new generation of lyrical artists while actively participating in the cultural influence of Ixelles and Brussels. The week will close with a gala concert open to the public, on July 17, 2026, at Théâtre Mercelis, during which the participants will present the fruit of their work through a program dedicated to the most beautiful pages of the lyrical repertoire.
