'Number One' follows a young man who begins to notice a mysterious countdown appearing every time he eats his mother’s cooking — and with every meal, the number continues to decrease. As the countdown approaches zero, he must uncover the meaning behind this strange phenomenon before it is too late. Combining suspense, emotion and family drama, the film explores themes of time and human connection through a uniquely Korean cinematic perspective. The film will be screened in Korean with French subtitles, making it accessible to local audiences and encouraging cultural dialogue between Korea and Belgium. We are also pleased to welcome a professor from University of Liège, who will participate in the evening and contribute to the cultural exchange surrounding Korean cinema and contemporary storytelling.
